Jenna Vissell, LMFT

Are you feeling trapped in a cycle of negative emotions and behaviors? Are traditional therapy approaches not providing the sense of connection and grounding you need to overcome your challenges? Hi there, I'm Jenna (She/Her), and I'm here to help.

My focus is on building a safe and supportive space where you can explore the full range of your experiences. I am passionate about helping you find comfort in the uncomfortable and work together to change old patterns that no longer serve us, communicate our needs, and cultivate social justice and joy.

Relational therapy

I specialize in relational therapy, welcoming all types and styles of relationships. Whether you're seeking therapy for family members, couples, friends, non-monogamous partners, caretakers, or parents, I'm here to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your challenges and deepen your connections.

Chronic illness

I also specialize in helping those who are coping with chronic illness thrive.

I have 20+ years of experience working with children of all ages and their families and I am passionate about supporting parents on their journey raising extraordinary humans.

Nature-based therapy

I also offer nature-based therapy, which provides a unique and powerful way of connecting with nature, animals, and other people. nature-based therapy can help you develop a sense of connection, grounding, and support while also learning new skills for managing anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

My nature-based therapy sessions take place outdoors in and around the Twin Cities, allowing you to explore your connection to the world around us. I have limited space available for these sessions, so please contact me if you're interested. I also offer animal-assisted therapy with a dog or the opportunity to interact with animals at a certain location, depending on availability.

Somatic breathwork release

Finally, I offer somatic breathwork release, a technique meant to release tension and trauma in the body through your own expression. This is not psychotherapy and is offered completely individually from therapy services, though it can be incorporated when appropriate. Individual and group sessions are available, so keep an eye out for future schedules, pricing, and registration.

At my practice, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to work through whatever challenges you're facing. My approach is grounded in compassion, empathy, and acceptance, and I work with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and identities. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health challenges, I'm here to help you find healing and peace.

As a queer therapist with a chronic illness (Lyme disease), I understand the importance of finding a safe and affirming environment where you can be embraced and accepted exactly as you are.

Please contact me to schedule a session or learn more about my approach to therapy. I'm looking forward to working with you on your journey towards greater well-being.
